Homemade Pasta Sauce and Running

Hey Everyone,

This is going to be a short post. The husband is working on my moms taxes and I’m sitting around waiting for them to be done so we can do dinner so I figured I’d write a quick blog post.

My most exciting food item was Cheese and Broccoli Ravioli with homemade sauce and a salad.

I picked this pasta on the weekend at the grocery store. Whole wheat Broccoli and Cheese Ravioli.

The stats weren’t too bad is you stayed within one serving.

First I cooked the the pasta and laid it flat to dry. A trick I learned at the Saltscapes Expo.

For the sauce Nicole had mentioned that she thought she had a recipe for a sauce so I searched her website and found a recipe for Traditional Italian Meatballs and decided to try it.

First we fried up some garlic and added a can of tomato paste and a can of crushed tomatoes with Italian Seasoning and added some onion salt (I forgot to pick up onions at the grocery store).

Then we cut up some fresh oregano, basil and parsley…

…and added them just before we added the pasta. Then we added the pasta to the sauce to re-heat it.

It was awesome. We served with this salad. In the ss: organic spinach, red, yellow, orange and green peppers, cucumber and carrots.

Served on a plate. Pasta…

Salad with dried cranberries and lemon juice…

All together…

Sauce turned out awesome. Thanks Nicole!

I also got a great interval run in yesterday morning. Run/walk for 20 mins. Since it was short it was crazy intense and felt great. I think tonight we are going to try to hit the gym after dinner to get in the weight workout that we missed this morning.

Have a great night everyone!
